Seven great reasons to go on a National Park guided walk

11 July 2014

Leaders

Our volunteer guided walk leaders have a wealth of knowledge and experience and are only too happy to share that with you. Come rain or shine, very few walks are ever cancelled. Here's what people have said about them recently:

"Lovely, welcoming, knowledgeable, communicative guides."

"The guides are well-informed, I always come away knowing something new."

"Brilliantly led, excellent walk."

"Amazing guides…John and Bryan, in very good hands, loved it."

Leave the map at home

Let the leaders take the worry out of route-finding so you have more time to enjoy the walk – no map and compass necessary! All our leaders are trained in navigation and have years of experience walking the Lake District fells. They'll be happy to give you tips on safe walking if you ask them.

Discover secret walks

We can show you some of the lesser-known routes in our beautiful county. We carefully plan each route we offer to make sure you experience the best of lakeland. And we listen to your comments if we've not got it quite right. Feedback forms are offered on most walks or you can have your say here. You can also Tweet us or visit our Facebook page.

Support the National Park

By donating on a guided walk you are directly helping to support conservation projects in the Lake District National Park. Many of our routes have been improved through projects such as Fix the Fells.

Health and wellbeing

We know walking is good for us. Why not try a walk that's a little more challenging? You'll have the support of the leaders who will talk through the route beforehand to make sure it's within your capability. They'll encourage you along the way too.
