Through partnership working with the Tactical Visitor Management Group we have secured funding two run the popular shuttle buses to Buttermere and Wasdale again this summer.
The £2 bus fare cap has been extended until 31 October 2023
The Buttermere shuttle will run from Cockermouth to Buttermere via Lorton every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday from 13th May to 28th August. This year it will be run by Stagecoach. A timetable leaflet is being distributed. More information including route maps and timetables.
The Wasdale Shuttle will run from Ravenglass station to Wasdale Head then shuttle between the pop up car park in Nether Wasdale and Wasdale Head, offering a park and ride. It will run Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays throughout June, July and August. The service will be run by Sim’s travel of Eskdale as last year. A timetable leaflet is being distributed. Low fares will be introduced to help cover the cost of these services. Single fares will be £2 adult, half for young people and free for under 5 year olds and concessionary pass holders.
