Explore the beauty of nature with our Miles without Stiles routes, designed for everyone to enjoy. Whether you prefer lakeside strolls, woodland adventures, or breathtaking summit views, our accessible routes offer something for all abilities.

1. West Windermere Way

From Newby Bridge to Lakeside, enjoy winding through woodlands and rugged shores of Windermere. Carry on and detour to High Dam or Stott Park Bobbin Mill towards Lakeside, YMCA for a longer walk. With sections suitable for both leisurely strolls and more adventurous explorations, this route offers a diverse landscape experience. Travel sustainably and catch the bus to Newby Bridge and hop aboard the ferry at Lakeside.

2. High Yewdale/Yewdale Bridleway, Coniston

Embark on two adjoining routes. Starting at Coniston, stroll through Yewdale's oak woodlands, passing historic Yew Tree Farm. Extend your journey with route 15: Yewdale Bridleway, under the rocky ramparts of Yewdale fell side, rich with bluebells and wild garlic in spring.

3.  Friar's Crag

Whether you're seeking a leisurely stroll or a picturesque viewpoint, Friar's Crag offers a memorable experience for all. This accessible walk leads to a stunning viewpoint overlooking Derwentwater, where you can marvel at the majestic Cat Bells and Borrowdale. Accessed from the market town of Keswick, there's many restaurants and cafes to stop by for something to eat.

4. Brockhole, Windermere

Enjoy a stroll around Brockhole grounds, taking in the shores of Windermere. Discover exciting activities for a fun day out.

Top tip: hop on the 555 or 599 for a sustainable scenic journey. The bus stops outside Brockhole Visitor Centre.

5. Dubwath Silver Meadows, Bassenthwaite

This circular walk, is part of the Bassenthwaite Reflections programme, featuring the Lake District's first wetlands nature reserve. Explore the 7.15-hectare site, filled with diverse wildlife and offering stunning views of Bassenthwaite Lake.
