Five great reasons to go on a guided walk

21 May 2018

This month it's National Walking month and the perfect excuse to tell you about our wonderful guided walks. With a huge variety of hikes and leisurely strolls, all show-casing the spectacular scenery, here are five great reasons we think you should join our expert leaders on a guided walk!

1. Let our experts guide you

Our volunteer guided walk leaders have a wealth of knowledge and experience between them and are only too happy to share their passion for the park. All our walk routes will show you the very best of the Lake District. From more than 200 to choose from there’s something for everyone.

2. Slipped up planning your route?

Let the leaders take the worry out of route-finding so you have more time to enjoy the walk – no map and compass necessary! All our leaders are trained in navigation and have years of experience walking the Lake District fells.

3. Improve your health and wellbeing

We know walking is good for us. Why not try a walk that's a little more challenging? You'll have the support of the leaders who will talk through the route beforehand to make sure it's within your capability. They'll encourage you along the way too.

4. It's a date!

Guided walks are a fantastic way of meeting people and making new friends. It's also a great way of spending quality time with friends and family. We've walks visiting caves and caverns, lakes, tarns and waterfalls and some secret special places we'd love to share with you.

5.  So much choice!

Our spectacular scenery offers something for everyone. From leisurely lakeshore strolls to classic felltops such as Scafell Pike and Helvellyn. You can take your pick from a gentle two hour stroll to a full and challenging seven hour day.

Here's just a small sample of walks coming up but there's plenty more running until the end of October.  Take a look at our full programme of this season’s wonderful guided hikes.
