Here at the Lake District National Park Authority, we are ready to extend a warm welcome to our visitors this summer. Whether you’re a seasoned explorer or first-time visitor, our rangers, customer service team, volunteers and visitor management service are ready to make it as enjoyable and safe experience as possible.
When travelling to the Lake District why not leave your car at home and travel by train or bus? If you need to bring your car, it’s easy to explore the National Park further by hopping on a bus, boat, train or bike. Please follow the Countryside Code and park responsibly, leaving enough room for emergency vehicles and not blocking any access points.

Take your four-legged friend with you on your next adventure and find a dog friendly pub or cafe. Remember to leave only pawprints on our landscape – if your dog does a poo, simply bag it and bin it.
