Travelling sustainably

When travelling to and around the Lake District this Easter let’s be mindful of the impact we have on the world around us. Whether you are travelling locally or from further afield enjoy a scenic bus or train ride to reach your desired location. Take your adventure to the water and enjoy shimmering lakes aboard, soaking in the spectacular views without leaving a trace.

Good news! The free Wasdale shuttle bus is back just in time for Easter weekend. Running from Good Friday, March 29 to Easter Monday, April 1 so if you were planning to visit this are, this gives you a sustainable way to do so.

Don’t forget that buses are still capped at £2 for a single journey for all other bus routes.

Boat and bike hire

Hop aboard our motor or rowing boats to explore the amazing views of Coniston water at our Coniston Boating Centre or enjoy scenic bike rides with routes for all abilities at Coniston Boating Centre. Don't forget your four-legged friends they're welcome too!

If you’re looking for additional bike hire and routes we have partnered up with the National Trust to provide bike hire at Langdale Campsite. More information can be found here: Link

Walking in the Lake District

Explore the beauty of nature with our Miles without Stiles routes, designed for the whole family to enjoy this Easter. Whether you prefer lakeside strolls, woodland adventures, or breathtaking summit views, our 50 accessible routes offer something for everyone.

When exploring the Lake District please remember to be Lake District Kind. By sticking to designated paths, keeping dogs on leads, and ensuring we pick up after them especially during lambing and bird nesting season.
